Chicago, IL (December 14, 2019) – A crash on Saturday afternoon, December 14th, on the west side of Chicago resulted in a Chicago police officer being injured. The accident happened at the 2400 block of West Jackson Boulevard at around 3:30 p.m. The officer was hit by a car during a traffic stop.
According to initial reports, officers attempted to pull over a BMW that was driving erratically. The vehicle reversed during the traffic stop, striking the officer’s patrol vehicle. The car then went forward and struck several other vehicles.
Both the driver and passenger of the BMW were taken into custody. The injured officer was hospitalized after the collision. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
