Bethalto, IL (December 3, 2019) – A slick roadway is believed to have caused multiple crashes, one involving a patrol car and another vehicle, in Bethalto, Illinois. Both collisions occurred near the intersection of IL-140 and IL-255. The initial crash took place at around 5:24 a.m. on Monday morning, December 2nd.
As authorities responded to the scene, a second driver lost control of their vehicle at around 5:41 a.m., striking a Bethalto Police Department vehicle. The roadway was closed following the second accident. The second driver was taken to a nearby medical facility for observation.
The second vehicle and the patrol car were seriously damaged in the impact. Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
