Police search for driver in fatal car accident who fled scene

Any person who is out on the road in Chicago understands the possibility that there will be a car crash. While these are frequently not serious, there is always the danger of an automobile accident being of sufficient severity that it leads to severe injuries or a fatality. Regardless of whether it is a fatal car accident or one with injuries, those who are affected by it need to bear in mind the potential aftermath. That can include vast medical expenses, the need for rehabilitative care and, in the worst case scenario, the loss of a treasured family member. What can make these crashes worse is if it is a hit-and-run.

An investigation is ongoing to find the driver who fled the scene after a fatal hit-and-run crash. The accident involved a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 1994 Mazda and happened at approximately 4 a.m. Law enforcement states that the Chrysler went through a red light and hit the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda, a 62-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead around a half-hour later. The driver of the Chrysler fled on foot. The fatal car accident victim was married with three grown sons.

It is one of the worst feelings imaginable when a person is confronted with an unexpected death and it occurs in a seemingly needless fashion. Initially, the focus will be on preparing for a funeral and moving forward with the necessary arrangements. Afterward, other issues will come to the forefront. Depending on the circumstances, the family could have trouble making ends meet, might have to make certain arrangements to care for children and need to deal with many other issues. With that in mind, those who have been affected need to protect themselves with an investigation that is based on their interests.

In this accident, a car ran a red light and killed a man in another vehicle. The investigation into the driver of the car that ran the light is ongoing as he or she fled the scene. The family of the deceased man must make certain that they are protecting themselves against all eventualities regardless of the state of the investigation. For that, they should speak to an experienced attorney as soon as possible.
