Cook County Sheriff's Officer killed in drunk driving accident

A 27-year-old Cook County Sheriff's Officer was killed in a December 17 crash. At approximately 4:00 p.m., near the intersection of Joliet and Davey Roads, two vehicles and a light-duty box truck all collided. One of the vehicles was driven by Sheriff's Officer Zachary Perry. Tragically, he was declared dead on the scene. Perry worked in the Cook County jail as a correctional officer.

Glenview man charged in death of construction worker

According to recent reports, a 26-year-old Glenview man is facing charges stemming from an accident that involved the death of a 59-year-old construction worker on a Tri-State Tollway. The charges include possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs involving death, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and aggravated speeding. It was also discovered that the man had an outstanding warrant for parole violation in Berrien County, Michigan.

Studies find car accident prevalence in Illinois State

Despite statewide attempts at increasing driver and vehicle safety, injuries and fatalities appear to be on the rise on Illinois roads. Attempts to get to the bottom of why the increase in driver and passenger injuries and fatalities on Illinois roads have turned up a few clues.
