Chicago, IL - CTA Bus Involved in Hit-&-Run at Laramie & Fullerton Ave

Chicago, IL (June 27, 2020) - Six people were injured after a Chicago Transit Authority bus crashed into a local business in the Chicago area on Friday morning, June 26. The accident occurred at the corner of N. Laramie Avenue and W. Fullerton avenue at around 7:50 a.m. The bus was reportedly struck by a tow-truck that fled the scene of the accident.

The impact allegedly caused the bus to crash into the eye care business. A photo from the scene shows that the transit bus crashed into the corner of Galileo Optical located at the 5159 block of W. Fullerton Avenue. Six adults, including the driver, were hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
