Wayne Co, IL – UPDATE: Thomas Leigh Injured in Crash on IL-15

Wayne Co, IL (May 8, 2020) – Thomas Leigh, 55, of West Salem, Illinois suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash in Wayne County, Illinois. The accident occurred on IL-15 on Wednesday, May 6th. The collision took place that evening around a mile west of 2700 East.

Leigh was reportedly traveling east in a pickup truck while Andrew Bangert, 33, of Clay City, Illinois was traveling west in a semi-truck. His vehicle then left the roadway and fell down a steep embankment. Leigh was flown to a hospital in serious condition.

Neither Bangert nor his passenger were injured. An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by local authorities.
