Chicago, IL (May 8, 2020) – A 57-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s West Side on Wednesday, May 6th. According to local officials, the man was hit by a black Jeep at around 8:55 p.m. The man was reportedly crossing at the 2400 block of West Congress Parkway.
The victim was identified as William Meritt from Lincoln Park, Illinois. The driver of the Jeep failed to remain at the scene of the accident. Meritt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Local authorities are currently investigating the accident.
