Rockford, IL – Serious Car Accident at I-39 & US-20

Rockford, IL (April 30, 2020) – Officials from the Rockford Police Department were called to the scene of a serious accident on Tuesday, April 28th. The site of the crash was reported at the intersection of I-39 and US-20, near the Magic Waters waterpark. There was serious traffic congestion resulting from the crash. 

Injuries were reported at the scene, but the extent of those injuries isn’t currently known. Emergency units responded to the scene to render aid to those injured in the collision. Officials advised the general public to avoid the area.

There was an active construction site near the scene, but at this time, it’s unknown if it was a factor in the crash. RPD is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
