Rockford, IL – Bicycle Collision at Lapey St & Sawyer Rd

Rockford, IL (April 26, 2020) – A cyclist was injured after being hit by a car in Rockford, Illinois on Friday night, April 24th. The crash took place at the corner of Lapey Street and Sawyer Road at around 6 p.m. Initial reports revealed that a vehicle struck a cyclist at the intersection.

It was confirmed that the cyclist was injured in the crash. The Rockford Police Department and Rockford Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. The driver remained at the site of the crash and cooperated with authorities.

The severity of the resulting injuries isn’t currently known. Local officials are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
