Illinois Bicycle Accidents

There were 45,000 reported bicycle accidents nationwide in 2015. While this is a decrease from the previous year, with more than 50,000 reported cycling crashes, fatalities increased by 12 percent. Cyclists are much more vulnerable to being seriously injured in the event of an accident.

Pedestrians and cyclists have to share the roadways with other motor vehicles. Sadly, too many drivers fail to pay attention to areas like crosswalks, causing serious accidents. In many cases, drivers ignore or refuse to respect when pedestrians have the right of way.
