Quincy, IL (April 4, 2020) – A three-vehicle collision occurred in Quincy, Illinois on Thursday, April 2nd. The crash occurred near the intersection of 63rd Street and Broadway Street at around 3:35 p.m. Initial reports revealed that Angela Clark was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan south on Broadway Street when she rear-ended a pickup truck driven by Charles Cox.

Cox was attempting to pull into a driveway at the time of the accident. The impact caused his vehicle to hit a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kristen Gerving. Both Cox and Gerving were taken by EMS to Blessing Hospital.

Clark was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Our thoughts are with Charles Cox, Kristen Gerving, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Rear-end crashes are the most commonly reported kind of accident each year. There are more than 2 million rear-end accidents annually, resulting in some 500,000 injuries. These crashes are also known to result in multi-vehicle collisions as other cars become involved in a larger accident.

In rear-end crashes, the driver from the rear is often responsible. This means he or she can potentially be held liable for resulting injuries. Injured parties should contact a qualified Illinois car crash attorney to discuss possible compensation.
