Peoria, IL – Driver Cited in Deadly Collision on Old Galena Rd

Peoria, IL (March 2, 2020) – A fatal head-on crash occurred in Peoria, Illinois early Thursday morning, February 27th. According to local reports, the accident took place at the 4700 block of Old Galena Road, near Wilkens Drive. A man driving a pickup drive reportedly crossed the centerline on the roadway, colliding head-on with a minivan. 

The driver of the minivan was killed in the collision. The driver of the pickup, Thomas Hackett, 51, of Chillicothe, Illinois, was cited for driving in the wrong lane. Hackett was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is being handled by local authorities.
