Neoga, IL (March 18, 2020) – Authorities responded to a T-bone collision in Neoga Township, Illinois in Cumberland County on Tuesday, March 17th, that left one driver injured. The crash occurred near the intersection of IL-121 and County Road 1000 North. Initial reports revealed that Karen L. Bline, 57, of Matoon, Illinois was driving a 2017 gray Jeep when she attempted to pass a stopped semi-truck.

While Bline attempted to pass the truck, Norbert E. Wolke, 86, of Montrose, Illinois was in the process of making a left turn in a 2014 gold Dodge van. Bline failed to see the Dodge and T-boned the driver-side of the vehicle as she attempted to pass. Bline was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment after the crash.

No other injuries were reported. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.

Our thoughts are with Karen L. Bline and her family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Some of the worst injuries are caused by T-bone crashes. When a vehicle hits another car directly from the side, the fact is that the sides of vehicles aren’t made to protect occupants. This means the resulting injuries can be extremely severe.

T-bone crashes are deadly, resulting in 8,000 deaths on average each year. Nearly 50 percent of fatal crashes involve side-impact collisions. In some cases, injured parties can recover lost compensation with the help of an Illinois car crash attorney.
