Pedestrian Crashes in Chicago

Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable road users. Many drivers fail to notice pedestrians on the road, even when using designated crosswalks. Pedestrians are at a serious disadvantage when involved in a crash with a motor vehicle.

A majority of pedestrian accidents in Illinois take place in Chicago, the state’s largest urban center. There were 139 pedestrians reportedly killed in crashes in the city in 2012. In some cases, injured parties can pursue lost compensation with the help of a qualified Chicago pedestrian injury attorney.
