Chicago, IL (March 1, 2020) – Officials in Chicago are currently seeking information on a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident on Saturday night, February 29th. A cyclist was reportedly struck at the 3700 block of West Lake Street in Garfield Park on the city’s West Side. At about 12:30 a.m., officials report that the victim was struck by a Chrysler 300 that fled the scene.
The vehicle reportedly made a left turn on Hamlin Avenue after the crash with suspected front-end damage. The injured cyclist was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The identities of the victim and the suspect haven’t been released at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by the Chicago Police Department.
