Chicago, IL – 5 Injured in Red Light Collision on S Lafayette Ave

Chicago, IL (March 10, 2020) – Five people were reportedly injured following a collision in the Chatham area of Chicago on Monday morning, March 8th. The collision occurred at the 7600 block of South Lafayette Avenue at around 1:35 a.m. A 26-year-old man driving a white BMW ran a red light, colliding with a gray Chevy SUV traveling west on 76th Street. 

Five people involved in the accident were transported to Stroger Hospital and the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment. A handgun was reportedly found in the BMW. No other details on the collision are known at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by local authorities.
