Chicago, IL (March 1, 2020) – A collision in south Chicago left five officers injured on Thursday, February 27th. The accident occurred at the 9200 block of South Chicago Avenue at around 11:40 p.m. An unmarked police vehicle reportedly collided with a marked patrol car as both were en route to assist with another crash.

The cause of the accident isn’t known at this time. Three officers from the unmarked vehicle and two from the marked police car were transported to nearby facilities for treatment. Most recent reports indicate the injured parties are in fair condition.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by the Chicago Police Department.
