Streamwood, IL – Cyclist Injured at IL Rte 59 & Schaumburg Rd

Streamwood, IL (February 23, 2020) – A cyclist was seriously injured while attempting to cross the street in Streamwood, Illinois on Saturday night, February 22nd. Initial reports revealed that the driver of a Toyota struck an adult bicycle rider near the intersection of Illinois Route 59 and Schaumburg Road at 11:46 p.m. Paramedics arrived at the scene to assist the injured cyclist.

The cyclist was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois with serious injuries. The 43-year-old driver of the Toyota was uninjured and the sole passenger of the vehicle. No citations have been filed at this time.

The Streamwood Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
