Peru, IL (February 25, 2020) – A pedestrian in Peru, Illinois was left severely injured after being struck on Saturday night, February 22nd. The accident took place at the corner of 4th and Pike Streets at around 7 p.m. The injured victim was found lying in the road with critical injuries.

Authorities found a 2016 black Ford stopped near the site of the crash with a cracked windshield. Inside the vehicle, there were six juveniles. The injured pedestrian, a 62-year-old man, was taken to a trauma center in Peoria, Illinois for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for multiple charges, including injuring a pedestrian and having an unlawful number of passengers in the vehicle.
