When a pedestrian is involved in a crash with a motor vehicle, they are at risk of being seriously injured. Obviously, there is usually little protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a crash. This reality means that many pedestrians are severely injured or killed following a car accident.

70,000 people are injured in pedestrian crashes each year across the country. In Illinois, there were 139 pedestrians killed in 2012. In some cases, surviving family members can recover lost compensation with the help of an Illinois wrongful death attorney.
