Jasper Co, IL (February 23, 2020) – On Saturday night, February 22nd, local authorities in Jasper County, Illinois reported that two people were injured after their vehicle ran off the road. Initial reports revealed that Hailey M. Cook, 18, of Matoon, Illinois was traveling on Jasper County Road 800E near 1600N at the time of the accident. Cook was unfamiliar with the area and failed to navigate the curve on the roadway, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Both Cook and her passenger, Peyton M. Wills, 18 of Newton, Illinois, were injured in the crash. An ambulance transported Cook to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Another ambulance took Wills to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.
No other details have been made public at this time. An ongoing investigation into the crash is in progress.
