Effingham, IL (February 12, 2020) – On Monday, February 10th, an accident involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle left one injured in Effingham, Illinois. The crash happened at the crossing of I-70 and I-57 at around 4 p.m. Local sources reported that a white 2019 Freightliner pulling a 2018 utility trailer struck a 2017 Gray Honda Civic that was in the center lane.

The truck driver, David T. Blalock, 42, of Brinkley, Arkansas, was reportedly in the left lane of the roadway. The Honda, driven by Richard K. Beagle, 41, of Effingham, was attempting to pass the truck when Blalock entered the center lane, striking the passenger vehicle. Beagle was transported to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Blalock was cited for improper lane usage. Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the accident.

Our thoughts are with Richard K. Beagle at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
