Chicago, IL – Head-On CTA Bus Crash with Minivan on W Chicago Ave

Chicago, IL (February 8, 2020) – Reports in Chicago revealed that a collision involving a wrong-way driver on the west side resulted in over a dozen injuries Friday night, February 7th. The crash occurred at the 5300 block of West Chicago Avenue at around 7:40 p.m. Authorities reported that a Honda minivan traveling the wrong way on Lorel Avenue struck a Chicago Transit Authority bus head-on.

The driver of the minivan reportedly fled the scene of the accident. 15 passengers on the bus were taken to nearby medical facilities for the treatment of sustained injuries. At least one victim was listed to be in critical condition.

No arrests have been made at this time. Local law enforcement officials are currently conducting an investigation into the accident.
