Chicago, IL – 2 Officers, 3 Others Injured on E 75th St

Chicago, IL (February 22, 2020) – Five people were injured, including two police officers, following a crash in the Grand Crossing area of Chicago’s South Side on Thursday, February 20th. The crash reportedly took place at around 8:40 p.m. at the 1200 block of East 75th Street. Initial reports revealed that officers in an unmarked police vehicle to stop a Dodge Challenger when the vehicle sped off. 

While the officers were pursuing the vehicle, the driver of the Challenger reversed at a high rate of speed, striking the officers’ vehicle. The two officers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the Challenger, a 24-year-old male, and his two passengers were also hospitalized.

An investigation into the crash is being handled by the Chicago Police Department.
