Belleville, IL – Deadly Hit-&-Run Crash at IL-157 & St Clair Ave

Belleville, IL (February 5, 2020) – A man was killed early Tuesday morning, February 4th, following a hit-and-run accident in Belleville, Illinois. The collision occurred near the intersection of I-157 and St. Clair Avenue at around 12:50 a.m. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Craig Boone, 39, of Belleville lying on the eastbound shoulder of IL-57.

Authorities reported that Boone was fatally struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Boone was pronounced dead and is believed to have been killed on impact. Officials are currently seeking information on the identity of the driver.

An ongoing investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
