Sterling, IL (January 15, 2020) – Two people were injured after the car they were traveling in slid underneath a semi-truck near Sterling, Illinois. The accident took place on Saturday, January 11th, on I-39. Officials from the Illinois State Police responded to the scene at around 8:51 a.m.

The vehicle was driven by a 15-year-old and carrying an older passenger. Both parties were treated at the scene by responding paramedics. The older passenger, identified as Kevin Lawrence, 41, was given a citation for allowing an unauthorized person to drive.

The driver was also cited for driving without a valid license and various other charges. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
