Mt Prospect, IL - UPDATE: Man Killed, Son Injured In Crash On IL-58

Mt Prospect, IL (January 9, 2020) - A man has died due to injuries sustained in a high-speed crash in Mount Prospect, Illinois on Sunday, January 5th. The crash took place near the intersection of IL-58 (Elmhurst Road) and IL-83 (West Golf Road) at around 7 p.m. Alejandro Arzeta, 46, of Des Plaines, Illinois was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima when he was struck by an oncoming 2019 Chevy Impala driven by a man, 33.

Arzeta was taken to Lutheran General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His son, 13, was taken to the same hospital in critical condition but is believed to be stable at this time. The driver of the Chevy was also seriously injured the crash.

Charges are currently pending against the driver who hit Arzeta. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
