Semi-Truck Crashes in Illinois

The injuries resulting from a semi-truck crash are often life-threatening. Occupants of passenger vehicles are at a great disadvantage when they are struck by a massive commercial vehicle. Each year, an estimated 5,000 passenger-vehicle occupants are killed in semi-truck collisions.

In all, nearly 67 percent of all semi-crash fatalities involve those outside the truck. These massive vehicles require nearly 30 times more distance to come to a complete stop, meaning that only a slight error can result in a serious accident. In some cases, surviving family members of a deceased victim can pursue lost compensation.
