Stop signs are meant to protect the safety of everyone on the road, but they don’t work when drivers fail to adhere to them. Drivers that run stop signs cause countless collisions in Illinois each year. These crashes can result in severe collisions, such as T-bone or head-on crashes.

According to national statistics, nearly one-third of all reported crashes in the United States happen at stop sign-controlled intersections. This comes out to nearly 700,000 accidents each year. In some cases, injured parties may be eligible to seek financial damages for their injuries.
