Independence, IL – 3 Killed In Head-On Crash At IL-34 & Williams Rd

Independence, IL (January 19, 2020) – The Illinois State Police was notified of a deadly crash at around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 19th, in Independence Township, Illinois. The collision took the lives of three people and injured several others. The crash took place on IL-34, around three miles north of Williams Road.

According to initial reports, a 2007 Dodge Charger crossed the center line of the roadway and collided head-on with a 2000 Lincoln limousine. The drivers of both the Charger and the limousine were killed on impact. One passenger of the limousine was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Eight other injured victims were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

No updates have been provided at this time. ISP is conducting an investigation into the cause of the collision.
