Pedestrians suffer more severe injuries in the event of a collision with a motor vehicle. Pedestrians have little protecting them from the full impact of the crash. Sadly, that is why many pedestrians suffer fatal injuries following a car accident.

Pedestrian crashes are far too common on the streets of Chicago. Pedestrian deaths have risen to 46 in 2017 from 27 in 2013. In some cases, surviving family members are able to seek compensation after the loss of a loved one.
