Chicago, IL - Ambulance Hit By Toyota In Hit-&-Run On California Ave

Chicago, IL (January 22, 2020) - Injuries were reported following a hit-and-run crash in the Lawndale area of Chicago on Tuesday afternoon, January 21st. Sources reported that the collision took place near the corner of South California Avenue and Flournoy Street. At around 1:15 p.m., a Chicago Fire Department paramedic was injured when an ambulance was struck by a westbound Toyota at the 700 block of South California Avenue.

The driver of the Toyota fled the scene after the crash. Authorities reported that the paramedic was transported to Rush University Medical Center for treatment. The patient on-board the ambulance was taken to Stroger Hospital.

No other details are known at this time. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
