Chicago, IL – 4 Injured In Red-Light Accident On Stony Island Ave

Chicago, IL (January 25, 2020) – A crash involving a school bus and at least two other vehicles left four people injured in Chicago on Thursday night, January 24th. The crash took place near the intersection of Stony Island Avenue, 79th Street, and South Chicago Avenue. According to police, the crash occurred when a 53-year-old man driving a pickup truck ran a red light on South Chicago Avenue and collidedwith a 34-year-old man driving a taxi traveling south on Stony Island Avenue.

The truck then hit a school bus driven by a 55-year-old man at the intersection. The pickup truck driver was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The taxi driver refused assistance, while a female passenter in the cab was also taken to the UCMC.

The bus driver and a 68-year-old woman traveling on the bus were taken to Jackson Park Hospital. An investigation into the crash is currently underway.
