Chicago, IL – 2 Officers Injured At W 84th St & Vincennes Ave

Chicago, IL (January 4, 2020) – A collision in the Auburn Gresham community of Chicago left two Chicago Police Department officers injured. The accident occurred on Thursday evening at around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of West 84th Street and Vincennes Avenue. 

The two officers were reportedly on-duty while traveling northeast on Vincennes Avenue in a patrol vehicle. A Mitsubishi traveling in the opposite direction being driven by a 54-year-old man collided with the patrol vehicle head-on. Emergency responders transported the injured officers to the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken into custody after the crash. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
