Chicago, IL - 2 Children Injured At Red Light In Old Irving Park

Chicago, IL (January 12, 2020) - Two children in Chicago were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in was struck by another car while stopped at a red light. The crash took place in the area of Old Irving Park on Saturday, January 11th. The driver reportedly hit a vehicle driven by a woman, 38, with two children in her car.

Neither driver was injured in the crash. A boy, 10, suffered swelling to his forehead, and a girl, 13, suffered knee and head pain. Both injured victims were transported to Lurie Children's Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

The driver who lost control of his vehicle is not currently facing charges. An ongoing investigation into the crash is in progress.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Intersection Crashes in Illinois

Thumbnail image for PFMstock6-6.jpgIntersections are a magnet for serious car crashes across the state of Illinois. This is because intersections are a point where the paths of many drivers converge. When drivers fail to yield right of way, they are liable to cause an accident.

The right of way is crucial to maintaining order on the road. Nearly 40 percent of all major crashes each year take place within intersections. Injured parties or their families should consult with an experienced Illinois auto accident lawyer to discuss their case.

Being injured in a crash is traumatic enough without dealing with the financial consequences. At Kent M. Lucaccioni, Ltd., we believe in helping those unfairly injured by a reckless driver. Give us a call at (312) 425-0401 to discuss your case today.
