Volo, IL (December 25, 2019) – An 82-year-old man from Lake Zurich, Illinois was killed following a three-vehicle collision in Volo, Illinois on Monday night. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred near the crossing of US-12 and Volo Village Road. The Lake Zurich man was reportedly traveling on US-12 SB when he crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a 2005 Toyota Sedan driven by a man, 20, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois.
The impact caused the Toyota to move into the path of a southbound 2008 Subaru SUV driven by a man, 27, of McHenry, Illinois. The Subaru collided with the Toyota, causing the Lake in the Hills man to be seriously injured and taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center. The driver of the Subaru was uninjured.
No other injuries were reported. Local law enforcement officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
