Schaumburg, IL (December 19, 2019) – A four-vehicle collision left one man killed and two others injured on Wednesday evening, December 18th, near Schaumburg, Illinois. The collision occurred near the intersection of I-290 and East Higgins Road. The Illinois State Police reported that the crash took place when a westbound white Lexus IS300 driven by a 40-year-old Palatine man went over the guardrail on I-290, entering oncoming traffic.
Three other vehicles were involved in the crash. A 60-year-old Plainfield man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Lexus and a 58-year-old Bolingbrook woman were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
No other injuries were reported. An investigation into the crash is being handled by ISP.
