Bluffs, IL – 3 Injured After Rear-End Impact On I-72

Bluffs, IL (December 22, 2019) – A crash on Saturday, December 21st, near Bluffs, Illinois left three people injured. The collision took place on I-72 (US-36) at around 7:40 p.m that evening. Initial reports revealed that the accident occurred when a westbound truck struck a van, seriously injuring its passengers. 

According to the Illinois State Police, John J. Hyde, 43, of Moscow Mills, Missouri was driving a truck when he struck a van driven by Dana M. Schmidt, 36, of Camp Point, Illinois. The van overturned and left the roadway. A juvenile passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

Schmidt, the unidentified juvenile passenger, and Michael L. Sisk, 38, of Camp Point were taken to Passavant Area Hospital. An investigation into the accident is currently underway.
